Dawlish Utd Vets 2-1 Grampound Veterans (Friendly Tour Match)

Grampound Veterans played in
their first ever tour match on
17th August at Dawlish United.
The team narrowly lost the match
2-1 in a close encounter in
front of an impressive crowd of
over 300 cheering fans. The
first half was one of little
chances with both defences on
top. Grampound took the lead
shortly after half time when Ben
Taylor poked home from close
range following in a free kick.
Dawlish United equalised moments
later from a corner and
eventually won the match due to
an overhead kick. Overall a draw
probably would have been a fair
result but Grampound
unfortunately couldn’t muster a
crucial equaliser. Grampound
gave a good account of
themselves and were a great
advert for the quality of
Cornish football. Massive thanks

and we look forward to play one
another again in the future.
