Grampound 2-2 Biscovey

26th September 2020

Duchy League Division 2

Grampound welcomed new signing Dan Eden and former players Mark Wherry and Dan Riley into the team but looked a little laboured in the first half, finding it difficult to retain the ball or to pick up second balls following challenges. Few chances came their way and it was no surprise when Biscovey took the lead when a cross found a visiting player in acres of space and he took his chance well.

The second half saw Grampound having to continue to defend at times but some of the sharpness seemed to have returned after a change of shape and there were few occasions when the lead looked like being extended. Indeed, Grampound began to look as if they might mount a challenge and a smart header from Sam Blount , as he got on the end of a long free kick, hit the net off the inside of the post.  Now level, Grampound began to pressure the visiting defence and a few half-chances came and went before new signing Dan Eden outpaced his marker down the left and his driven cross was met by Dylan Fox whose sharp header thumped into the net on 80 minutes.  The lead did not last long as the visitors equalised with their next attack although Grampound will be disappointed with their defending after taking the lead in a difficult game.
