Match Report
Delabole Utd 1-1 Grampound
12th October 2019
Duchy League Division 3
Grampound looked much the better side in the opening exchanges and it was expected that the team should take the lead on 10 minutes when Shane Weeks latched on to a long cross behind the home defenders and slammed a low sot into the far corner from 15 yards. Grampound had several more chances in a nondescript first half but the home side also looked dangerous on occasions and Henderson did well to keep out a shot from 20 yards following a string of Delabole corners. Having missed at least 3 gilt edged chances, Grampound were disappointed to go into the break just one goal ahead.
The second half continued much as the first with a host of missed opportunities by Grampound and one shot going over the goal after hitting the bar. Delabole had good possession around the Grampound penalty area but rarely looked like troubling Henderson until with just seconds left on the clock a long cross evaded Grampound defenders and the ball was volleyed home to give Delabole a point that they celebrated and Grampound rued the missed chance to take all three points in a game where they were not at their best but where they were in control for much of the time.
