Match Report
Grampound 1-1 Boscastle Res.
4th January 2020
Duchy League
Grampound dominated the first half but could not find a waythrough a resolute visiting defence although a few chances did prsent themselves. Quicker passing and movement would have helped Grampound but the heavy pitch made such play difficult and at times the approach had to be a little ponderous as players tried to move the ball esharply without much success. Grampound, on chances created, were disappointed to still be level at the break with Boscastle offering little as an attacking force.
The second half continued in much the same vein, Grampound attacking and not being too successful, but on 55 minutes a forceful run saw Grampound's leading scorer Dylan Fox outpace the visiting defenders and hammer the ball past the goalkeeper to give Grampound a deserved lead. Grampound continued to look pretty comfortable but with about 15 minutes left a long free kick into the Grampound penalty area resulted in a bit of confusion. The ball fell to a Boscastle player who was able to finish into the corner of the net for the equaliser. Grampound continued to push forward and might have secured a winning goal but it was not to be . The final positions of these two group qualifiers will now come down to the last group game with currently both teams on 7 points but with Grampound having a one goal advantage in the group table.
