The scoreline was a little flattering to Foxhole whose lively strikers were the difference between the teams. Foxhole took the lead on the half hour but Mike Cruse equalised with a low shot from the edge of the penalty box. Two quick goals just before the break put Foxhole back in charge and they extended their lead to 4-1 with a good finish in off the underside of Grampound's crossbar. Mike Cruse reduced the deficit with a good run and shot and might have made it interesting if he had converted a penalty awarded when Glyn Ford was fouled. The golalkeeper made a decent save. Both teams had chances in the closing stages but Foxhole finished the stronger and managed to score twice in the last few minutes.
